FollowTheResult – 2023 Governorship Elections

As part of ReadyToLeadAfrica’s (RTLA) ongoing efforts to promote electoral transparency, democratic participation, and accountability, RTLA is utilizing its FollowTheResult (FTR) platform to observe the 2023 Governorship Elections across Nigeria. This initiative serves as the second tier of the Electoral Integrity Protection, Democratic Participation, and Accountability Project (EIP-DPAP), following the successful implementation of Youth Against Electoral Violence Accord (YAEVA).

The FollowTheResult (FTR) platform is a real-time election monitoring tool designed to provide citizens, election observers, and stakeholders with accurate, transparent information about the electoral process. By leveraging the FTR platform, RTLA aims to empower Nigerian voters and ensure the election process remains free, fair, and credible.

Objectives of Using FTR for the 2023 Governorship Election:

  • Real-Time Election Results Monitoring: The FTR platform will provide live updates on election results from polling units and collation centers across Nigeria, ensuring voters and stakeholders have immediate access to accurate election data.

  • Independent Electoral Oversight: As part of EIP-DPAP, RTLA will monitor and report on all aspects of the electoral process through the FTR platform, ensuring the integrity of the election and preventing fraudulent practices.

  • Enhanced Voter Engagement: The platform will allow citizens to track election outcomes as they happen, enabling them to remain informed and engaged in the democratic process throughout the election day.

  • Transparency and Accountability: FTR will ensure full transparency by publicly sharing verified election results and enabling citizens to report any issues or irregularities they observe during the election process.

FollowTheResult (FTR), as part of the Electoral Integrity Protection, Democratic Participation, and Accountability Project (EIP-DPAP), is a pivotal tool for safeguarding democratic values, ensuring electoral fairness, and maintaining accountability during the 2023 Governorship Elections in Nigeria.
