ReadyToLeadAfrica coordinated a mobilization exercise tagged #MarchForOurFuture on the 14th of October 2021 and over 100 young people came out to participate in the march exercise which took place at the National Assembly gate. It was a call on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill Conference Committee (NASS), as a matter of urgency to harmonize the position of the E-Transmission of results bill to enable President Muhammadu Buhari append his signature before the November 6 Anambra governorship election and the next presidential election.
This mobilization exercise was captured by various media press agencies and their representatives with the likes of Channels TV, TVC News, Capital Post and Arise News. The president of RTLA Mr Godbless Otubure gave an opening remark and expressed gratitude to the Senate for listening to the voice of Nigerians. He stated that election result will no longer be rising like Garri in this country as this will bring positive change to credible and reliable political administration.
Present was Mr Ariyo Dare Atoye, a journalist and the Executive Director of Adopt a Good for Development Initiative, who showed great support and expressed his opinion which he elucidated that Nigerians yearn for credible and transparent elections of which electronic transmission of results provide. He also expressed assurance that President Buhari will accent to the bill, advised that future elections beginning from Anambra State in November be electronically transmitted.
