African Democracy-Meter Reports Initiative (ADRi)

Tracking Progress. Measuring Impact. Advancing Democratic Accountability in Africa.

The African Democracy-Meter Reports Initiative (ADRi) is a data-driven civic innovation initiative by ReadyToLeadAfrica (RTLA) aimed at monitoring, evaluating, and reporting the state of democracy and governance across African countries through a youth-led lens. This initiative is a response to the growing need for independent, grassroots-centered tools that assess democratic progress beyond elections — focusing on transparency, accountability, human rights, youth inclusion, and institutional performance.

The African Democracy-Meter Reports Initiative (ADRi) tracks and reports the state of democracy across African countries. It provides annual scorecards assessing civic space, youth inclusion, electoral integrity, and governance accountability. Through data-driven research, policy tracking, and citizen engagement, ADRi promotes transparency, strengthens democratic institutions, and supports policy reform across the continent.
